GEORGIA STATE LINE BIO, 2023
ARIA-nominated project Georgia State Line is the moniker of Naarm/Melbourne based songwriter and musician Georgia Delves, and is brought to life by her innately talented band- Tom Brooks, Laura Baxter and Patrick Wilson.
Their 2021 debut album In Colour (Cheatin’ Hearts Records/Spunk records) is a coming-of-age, for not just the band but also its listeners. Delves’ voice hints at heartbreak and yearning, but equally nods to strength and hope. The album is the open arms of a kind and close friend, inviting you to sit and stay a while.
Georgia State Line’s unique brand of sound feels like home, a genuine and warm acknowledgment to the infinite possibilities of life. It is no surprise that the group have been nominated for a string of highly esteemed awards including ARIA and Australian Independent Records, have recently taken home the trophy for Best Country Work at the 2022 Music Victoria Awards, and have received 4 stars from NME, praising Delves as Victoria’s own Lucinda Williams.
They’ve performed as part of both major festivals across Australia including CMC Rocks and Australia’s country pride and joy- Tamworth Music Festival, and have warmed up the stage for major international acts like Justin Townes Earle and Eilen Jewell (USA). Georgia State Line welcomes you in, and their dreamy live show makes you never want to leave.
With a second album on the way, as well as a collaboration with Creative Victoria to present their work alongside a string quartet, the group have cemented their place in the music industry, and are here to stay.
BONSAI RECORDS BIO, 2022
Bonsai Records has created a supportive and inclusive celebration of Victorian DIY artists. The Wathaurong based record label was founded by passionate and experienced music industry professional Ella Jefferies in 2019, with its core values strongly planted in providing ample opportunities for up-and-coming musicians.
Bonsai Records is based in Wallington, regional Victoria, alongside its sister recording studio ‘Big Fridge Sounds’ and an in-house screen printing and DIY merchandise service. Ella carefully works towards her artists growth with persistence and care, much like the gentle but constant upkeep required to encourage the growth of a Bonsai tree.
The labels current roster houses a diverse selection of artists from both regional and metropolitan Victoria, including Bones and Jones, Pollyman, Sirens, and Winksy.
BLUE VEDDER BIO, 2022
Based in Naarm (Melbourne), dream-gaze outfit Blue Vedder have created a contemporary but accessible gateway to the ambient trance of the nostalgic shoegaze soundscape. Inspired by the sonics of my bloody valentine, Slowdive, Radiohead, DIIV and The Smashing Pumpkins, the group have made a name for themselves in the Melbourne DIY scene and are beginning to embed their signature sound across the country.
Blue Vedder formed in early 2021 with the aim of reinstating the ever popular 90’s genre, complete with heavy fuzz, delay and copious amounts of reverb, into its former glory, by creating a project to fill the genre’s void in the Melbourne musical landscape. Selling out shows in both Melbourne and Wollongong as part of a successful east-coast tour, the group are using Blue Vedder as a vessel for their dark and secret love of the gritty, emotive genre.
With multiple upcoming releases, a recent collaboration with Kitty Records, and plans for an Australian tour in late 2022; Blue Vedder are well on track to cement their place in the Australian Industry.
